Lo, how a rose e’er blooming from tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse’s lineage coming as men of old have sung.
It came, a flow’ret bright, amid the cold of winter when half spent was the night.
Isaiah ‘twas foretold it “the rose I have in mind”.
With Mary we behold it, the Virgin Mother kind.
To show God’s love aright, she bore to men a Saviour when half spent was the night.
O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light,
the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

O holy child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray.
Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell.
O come to us, a bide with us, our Lord Emmanuel, our Lord Emmanuel.

Alle luya! O how the angels sang! Alleluya!
How it rang! And the sky was bright with a holy light.
‘twas the birthday of a king.
In the little village of Bethlehem, there lay a child one day.
And the sky was bright with a holy light o’er the place where Jesus lay.

Alleluya! O how the angels sang! Alleluya!
How it rang! And the sky was bright with a holy light.
‘twas the birthday of a king.

Alleluya! O how the angels sang!
Alle luya! How it rang! And the sky was bright with a holy light.
‘twas a birthday of a King.
‘twas the birthday of a king.
